How Kacey Wears It, "Bouquet"

Hi All and Happy Sunday! Hope you are doing swell. I just got home from church and thought I'd do a quick post on what I wore today. This is one of my favorite dresses in my collection! It's called "Bouquet" and is one of my best sellers. It is made with a high quality cotton and has a bright floral print. I love this dress paired with Mint Green or Lavender, but today I threw in a pop of hot pink too (just cuz I love pink!) Here's one of the ways I like to wear "Bouquet:"

Loves from "Patch-A-Heaven!"

Flowers make me happy! Even when I wear them.

I wear this with my mint green suede heels from VS online. And my fav pink Kate Spade handbag.

Here's the mint green bracelet I found at the Queen B market at Snap, love it!

I like this mint green statement necklace with this dress.

I'm pretty much obsessed with the clothes and styles in the movie "Gatsby" so I had to go with the head scarf wrap!

How Kacey Wears It, Hydrangea

Hi friends! I'm back with another "How Kacey Wears It" post. Today I'm wearing my "Hydrangea"
dress (available at shabbyapple.com) It is the perfect summer dress! It is a delicate shade of sky blue, and is made of cotton voile, making it perfectly lightweight for the summer ahead. The color has been seen in many collections this Spring. Some of my favorite uses of this color were the Chanel ensemble (worn by Amanda Seyfried) on the cover of InStyle Magazine as seen here:

My "Hydrangea" dress is so simple that it can be styled so many different ways! I loved the above ODLR look so much, that I couldn't help but style my dress with black. So the below pic shows the styling I chose that was inspired by the ODLR look above:

I chose a black lace cardigan(from local shop Contagious), nude colored heels that have a black lace overlay (from VS), and a black floral lace wrist cuff that I made. The black lace gives this look a dressier feel (but also a little edgy) and makes this simple dress appropriate for a dressier occasion.

This is my "dressed up" styling for "Hydrangea" coming soon is a more laid back styling, stay tuned for more ways to wear this simply, pretty dress. Have a Fancy Day from "Patch-A-Heaven!"

How Kacey Wears It, Casual "Belle de Jour"

Here's a close up of the Belle De Jour Dress Available at Shabby Apple
Hi my fashion friendlies!
My first ever designed dress collection came out with Shabby Apple this Spring. And they are modeled perfectly on their website! But, I have been asked several times how I style my dresses and that folks want to see me in them. So here we go! I call this series of posts "How Kacey Wears It!"
Today I'm wearing
my "Belle de Jour" dress. This has been one of my best selling dresses and I must say I love wearing it too! It's a beautiful light orange, pleated chiffon. It's so feminine and flowy. You just can't help but do a little twirling in this baby! I have worn this dressed up and down. One of my favorite looks is to wear it casual. I wore it to a blog conference recently and received tons of compliments! I wore it with a denim jacket and my leopard calf-skin flats. It was a more casual way to style it and here is a peak at it.

This is how I wear it dressed down. I like it with my short denim jacket, pink lace headband, pink and coral statement necklace and my fav leopard print flats!

(keep in mind when you look at my pics, I don't have a professional photographer. These were actually taken by my 7 year old daughter.)

Here I may be showing the pleats or I may be looking to see if the bubbles that I spilled on this dress in the Nursery at church today show up! This is real life people!!

These are my fav flats to wear with this dress. They are "Monogram Loafers" from VS online.

Here are some pics courtesy of shabbyapple.com (there is a link to their website at the top of this post) This dress is currently available in the orange, but was re-made in two other colors available soon! To view/purchase these or my other designs please visit shabbyapple.com.

This one is called "Orchid" available exclusively at Shabby Apple!

This one is called "Lilac" and available exclusively at Shabby Apple!

This is one of my favorite dresses and this is how I style it casual. For the next "How Kacey Wears It" I will style it for a more dressy occasion.

Until then, hope you have a Fancy Day from "Patch-A-Heaven"!!

                                                             Loves, Kacey

Fashionable Farmer/Runway Rancher Episode 1, Nautical Cowgirl

Hey there friends! I am just getting back on top of things here on "Patch-A-Heaven!" I attended the SNAP Conference (if you aren't familiar with SNAP, it's a 3 day conference here in Utah for the creative/diy blogging community, where we can network, and learn from great classes.) and lets just say things got a little behind without mama to clean up and take care! So I've spent the past 2 days cleaning and reorganizing the homestead. It's looking much better now. Wish I could say I was on top of the laundry though (the washer decided to die, really die this time, while I was gone!) Looks like I'll be making another trip to the laundry mat this week. JOY! (insert sarcasm here!)  But I really enjoyed my time at SNAP! I learned so much (my head is still spinning!) and met lots of fun and creative people. Today's post is part of my new theme "Fashionable Farmer/Runway Rancher" (this is a theme where I like to mix farming and ranching with fashion) To read more on what inspired this theme you can read my blog post here:
  Fashionable Farmer/Runway Rancher is born
In this post I wanted to share some of the fun things I found while at SNAP. Today I am wearing what I call the "Nautical Cowgirl" look. I love the latest as much as the next trendsetter, but my "cowgirl style" also has to be very functional. I know some absolutely drop dead gorgeous cowgirls, but the best thing about a true cowgirl is that we aren't just another pretty face or outfit. We've got those mad horse training, lamb wrangling, cow chasing skills! We aren't "all hat and no cattle!" Pretty and functional, now that's my kind of girl! So today I am wearing a super trendy tee I bought at the Queen B Market at SNAP, it's from the Printed Palette. It has an anchor and says "Live Life Anchored" (if cowgirls are anything, we are anchored! We have roots that run deep and always stay firmly anchored to where we come from and what we stand for.) I'm sporting a new necklace from rhousecouture, which they so generously gave to all the SNAP attendees (thanks ladies!) it has a pretty bead and is stamped with this year's theme "Create Joy" I paired this comfy tee with my cobalt colored skinnies, and to add the cowgirl element, my black Lucchese Sting Ray Boots!
So what's your style? Are you straight up cowgirl or do you do a little mixin' like me? Or maybe you are straight trendy. There are plenty of fashion blogs out there, great ones! Ones that I love to follow. What I'm hoping to add to this area is fashion with farmer function! I'm headed to Sanpete today to pick up show lambs so my outfit's got to be functional, but can't live without a little trendy style too!

Here's the pretty necklace from rhousecouture!

And here are the newest members of our lamb family! My girls are going to show lambs this year in 4-H. (Mama has got to get these wild little guys tamed!)
